MEA LIVE: Amid India-Canada Diplomatic Showdown, MEA Says "Shifting the Blame to India Doesn't Work"
A day after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau admitted that he did not have concrete evidence regarding India's involvement in the killing of Khalistan separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, India's Ministry of External Affairs on Thursday noted a recurring pattern, driven by "political considerations", from the Trudeau government, along with consistent efforts to "smear India". MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal added, "As far as the allegations are concerned, PM Trudeau's own admission yesterday would indicate the value as regards our stance on the allegations. We will naturally reject false imputations against our diplomats."
