(24 Sep 2015) Muslims gathered in Lagos, Nigeria's most populous city, on Thursday to celebrate Eid al-Adha, with many people reflecting on the stampede that killed at least 717 pilgrims near Mecca.
Yahaya Abimbola, State General Secretary at Lagos State Council of Chief Imams and Ulama, told The Associated Press that the stampede was "an act of God"
Some two (m) million people are taking part in this year's hajj pilgrimage, which is an obligation of every able-bodied Muslim.
