The Health ministry has warned the states of Maharashtra, Kerala and Madhya Pradesh to contain the Delta Plus variant that has been detected in some districts of these states. States have been asked to track and trace as well as vaccinate aggressively in these clusters.  The Delta variant is said to be responsible for the second wave of COVID in the country. A new variant of the Delta variant called Delta Plus has been found in many parts of the country and is said to be the reason for the third wave within the country.Meanwhile, the pace of vaccination slows down to over 50 lakhs on the second day of the new program.
