This video showcases the result of a study conducted between University of Nairobi and a farmer in Karachuonyo on ground nut farming. Different varieties were planted in the same place and same condition. They wanted to determine which seed does well in that soil so that community members can adapt to it to to he;p them increase their household income and also improve the household nutrition. They finally realized that Nsinjiro from malawi and CG7 does well and has high germination rate as compared to12991 which has very poor germination rate. From one seed planted, Nsinjiro and CG7 had 120 groundnuts pods. The 12991 seed did not do well, it was sprayed and yet was affected by the rust disease. We can now encourage the farmers in karachuonyo to plant Nsinjiro and CG7.
