Actor Sir Michael Gambon has died in hospital aged 82, his family said. Harry Potter co-stars of Sir Michael Gambon, who played Professor Albus Dumbledore in six films, are among those paying tribute to the stage and screen legend after his death aged 82.
He died this day. His birthday was last October and he would have turned 83 next month on the 19th of October.
Of this sort of age group, the big three for me (at this time) would be Michael Gambon, Ian McKellen (84), and Joss Ackland (95). Though you may know them more for films and TV work, they are all known in theatre as well.
