After a disappointing start to their 2021 Playoffs, the Penguins needed to have a better game so as to not head to Long Island down 2-0. Bryan Rust got things started, scoring on a long shot under four minutes into the contest. Almost ten minutes after Rust's tally, Jeff Carter showed tremendous patience with the puck, skating left-to-right and shooting right-to-left, through the Islanders' netminder, Varlamov. Bailey got New York on the board on an equally nice move and shot, but that would be it for scoring in this game. Tristan Jarry put together a strong performance, answering the critics' comments following Game 1. Jarry stopped 37 of 38 shots, including a few highlight-reel saves. The series will shift to Long Island for Games 3 on May 20 at 7:00 PM.
