Wetlands have reduced in size by over 35% since 1970, that’s 3 times the rate of forest loss and ¼ of all wetland dependent species are in decline. As if these threats are not enough, over 25 million birds are illegally killed in the Mediterranean each year, many of those at key wetland sites.
