President Donald Trump insisted Wednesday he did not ask the U.S. ambassador to the U.K., Woody Johnson, to help bring the British Open to his Turnberry golf resort in Scotland.
Speaking to reporters at his evening White House briefing, Trump said, "I never spoke to Woody Johnson about that," despite a number of reports to the contrary.
The president was also asked if he plans to shut down additional Chinese embassies following the closing of the consulate in Houston, amid allegations Beijing was seeking to steal data from facilities in Texas.
Trump said, "it's always possible."
Responding to rival Joe Biden's comments that Trump is the "first racist president." Trump said he's "done more for black Americans than anybody with the possible exception of Abraham Lincoln."
