Station 16 Gallery is thrilled to present MINUIT - UNE, a solo exhibition by Montreal-based artist Steven Spazuk highlighting a selection of his unique fire paintings created using a technique called fumage. Spazuk has perfected this technique, allowing him to use the flame of a candle or of a torch as a brush to create his paintings by leaving trails of soot on his canvas. MINUIT - UNE is a reflection on the fragility and current state of our planet displaying works made using carbon black, the product at the root of so many of our environmental problems. The vernissage will be held on November 23rd from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at Station 16 Gallery and the exhibition will run until December 16th 2017. The night of the vernissage will include many special fire performances, including a live demonstration of the fumage technique by Steven Spazuk, an experience not to be missed!
