India has had four consecutive years of good monsoons and overall rainfall from 2019 to 2022 thanks to La Nina. But the country is likely to receive below-normal monsoon rains in 2023 as El Nino takes over. The weather agency SKYMET predicted that the monsoon in 2023 will be below normal at 868.6 mm for the four-month-long period from June to September.
