The Carr Center’s Gathering Orchestra is one of the premier Jazz ensembles in the United States for late teens and young adults. Led by iconic Detroit musician Rodney Whitaker, fellows are selected via auditions and invitations and participate in the program for up to two years.

In addition to the four to five one-week residencies at the Carr Center’s Performance Studio in Detroit’s Cultural Center, the fellows perform at numerous venues across Michigan.
