Researchers conducted experiments in Alaska’s Yukon River basin, indicating that mercury is being rapidly released, posing serious health risks to flora, fauna, and human populations. The study emphasizes the potential for a "mercury bomb" to have widespread environmental and health implications, both locally and globally.
