The G7 countries intend to cut off another source of large export earnings from the sale of diamonds to Russia. This is reported by the Financial Times. Washington has already imposed sanctions against Alrosa, the largest Russian diamond mining group of companies. Japan, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom intend to join the US. The new measures are likely to be taken by the G-7 leaders following the three-day summit in Hiroshima on May 21st.
