Towards the end of 2012, following an unprecedented open and honest development process, Government Digital Services (GDS) officially launched GOV.UK, "The best place to find government services and information". In April this year GOV.UK was heralded by the Design Museum as the Design of the Year 2013.

In May 2013, we were delighted to welcome GDS Senior Visual Designer Stephen McCarthy to Belfast for the first Northern Ireland Design Alliance Anatomy of Design talks.

Stephen talked about the design principles applied to GOV.UK and the challenges the GDS team experienced along the way. This is a great opportunity to hear from someone at the leading-edge of public sector online services.
