Malir Expressway Karachi Rapidly Under Contruction Project of The Game Changer to Reduce Port and City Transportation by Alternative Route
The Malir Expressway is a 39.3 kilometer-long, four-lane expressway in Karachi, Pakistan that's currently under construction: The expressway runs along the Malir River from KPT Interchange near Qayyumabad to the Karachi-Hyderabad Motorway (M-9) near Kathore. The expressway will provide a new route for port traffic and industrial traffic and will reduce commuting times. The expressway will have six interchanges and two toll plazas. Construction: Construction began on May 12, 2022, and is scheduled to be completed in June 2025. The project is structured on a Design, Built, Finance, Operate & Maintain and Transfer (DBFOT) arrangement. The concessionaire will be responsible for collecting tolls from commuters. The Malir Expressway is expected to significantly reduce travel times, making it much faster to commute from DHA Karachi to DHA City, Bahria Town & M-9 Motorway Karachi to Hyderabad.
