Eradu Nakshatragalu is a 1983 Kannada movie directed by Singeetham Srinivasa Rao starring Master Lohith (Puneeth Rajkumar) in the lead role alongside Dr.Rajkumar.
The movie is based on the English novel "The Prince and the Pauper" by Mark Twain - his first English novel adaptation. He later went on to act in one more English novel adaptation 2 years later in Bettada Hoovu (1985) which was based on the English novel "What Then, Raman?" ( also known as "Pinneyo Raman? / Tiger in the mountain") . Both the movie adaptations fetched him awards. This movie earned him the State Award while the latter won him the National Award.
Puneeth played dual roles in the movie and it his only double role movie where both the characters appear together on-screen. Though he appeared in double roles in Yaarivanu, Veera Kannadiga and Ranavikrama, both the characters do not appear together on-screen.
B Jayashree dubbed the voice for Ambika. Puneeth Rajkumar won the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Child Actor - his consecutive State award in the same category after Chalisuva Modagalu (1982) the previous year.
