New production of the ballet “PARADE” by Erik Satie was presented as part of the Moravian Autumn Festival of the Brno Philharmonic (Czech Republic) on the 6th of October 2019.
The ballet “PARADE” was premiered at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris in 1917 by Sergei Diaghilev's Ballets Russes, portraying the music of Erik Satie scored to a one-act scenario by Jean Cocteau with costumes and sets designed by Pablo Picasso.
This new version of “PARADE” produced by Soundscapes (Malta) transposes the ballet on a contemporary platform, displaying a variety of art forms: contemporary dance, stop-motion animation, projection dancing, masks and puppetry. The costumes are inspired by the original sketches of Picasso.
