This commercial is for the Gobots toy ZOD.
The Gobots were transforming robot toys produced by Tonka from 1983 to 1987. Gobots were primarily based on the Machin Robo toys from Japan. Tonka created the mythology of the Gobots completely separate from any story details of the Machine Robo line and gave each character names and personalities.
This video, although perfectly suitable for children, is not intended for current children. It is meant for adults who were children when the commercial originated. My intent is to preserve or refresh the memories of childhoods from the past and offer some enjoyable nostalgia.
