The non-woven polypropylene bags that are commonly used in the country are expected to be phased out at the end of this month. This is after the National Environment Management Authority has stopped the manufacture, importation, supply and use of the non-woven polypropylene bags in the country effective from 1st of next month on grounds that they are not biodegradable.
