I cannot describe the agony and suffering that this level caused me. I’ve never had such a depressing experience with a level in my entire history with this game, but I kinda did it to myself. Don't get me wrong, the level itself is torturous, but I put myself under way too much pressure. I’ve been straight up mentally unhealthy for the past month, and I was aware of that, but I didn’t care. I just put my god damn head down and rammed it into a brick wall repeatedly week after week. This level definitely showed me my weak points, so now that this is over I'll try to work on all that.
THIS LEVEL IS SO HARD!!!! I WILL EXPLAIN. Let’s start with a fun fact: Out of my 40K attempts from 0%, 29K of them ended at the first jump. It’s a 2 frame timing on 360FPS. That’s always fun, but the predrop actually gets very consistent, so that’s no problem. The drop ship is a different story. The first 3 clicks are completely random and you have to read it based on where your ship ends up that attempt. Next up is 27 and 28. A fantastic 4 and 5 frame combo. Those ones are super easy to die at, and if you didn’t, you’re in luck because right up ahead at 31% you have WHATEVER that is. I mean i seriously don’t even know how that jump works it is actually the most luck based click in any level. The next click at 32% is also an annoying choke point which doesn’t help anyone whatsoever. Trying to use your skill to pass 31, 32, and 33 is about as effective as reciting the hail mary before attempting it. I’m so glad I found the skip at 35%, which made it from a 3 frame timing to a pretty much infinite frame timing. It was the single hardest and most annoying click, and only god knows where I would be at without it. The wave at 37 is incredibly easy to mind block at first, but it’s overall very consistent, just really tight. I cant even count how many times I died by 1 frame at that wave. After you pass that, you still don’t get a break, because now you have to play the 40 ship!!!! This ship is another example of random nonsense. I’d probably describe this as the hardest part, or close to it. The part is so inconsistent that you’re better off shutting your brain down when you get to it. It’s impossible to have any of the inputs in this part align with what you intended, so you constantly have to make slight adjustments to correct for being slightly higher or lower.. After the ship, you enter the 2nd half and FINALLY get a break (if you don’t choke at the 50% mini wave which happened way too much), which lasts about 5 seconds until you make a trip to 62%. Most people have way more trouble with this click than I did, but nonetheless it’s another stupid annoying mid timing with a very weak visual cue. Passing this click is huge because it could give you a chance at 72%, which may get you into the endgame. That is, if you don’t choke the upwards ship at 67% which I did 9 TIMES. I hate ship. The 72% ship is something we all know and love. The gap is basically as tight as it gets and the transition into it is SERIOUSLY no help. It’s pretty easy to slightly mess up the transition into it and just completely flop the whole thing. It’s terrible, but got surprisingly consistent later on. After passing that, you can finally play an easy part that lasts more than 5 seconds. It (USUALLY..) brings you automatically to 86% which I CANNOT STAND. I died there 4 times and I hated it every time. If you pass that good job now you’re at the END ZONE. This part is incredibly difficult, and up there with the hardest parts (if not the hardest part). The 89% wave is GOD awful and just something you gotta die to. I don’t think i need to explain why that gap sucks if you have eyeballs. After that, the 90 and 91 cube clicks are super tight and probably the most chokeable clicks in the whole level. They’re so hard to do under pressure and you gotta be in complete flow state. The ball after went from the hardest part at the end to the easiest very quickly. I’m not sure why, but even though it’s also stupidly hard, it got consistent just through built up muscle memory. It doesn’t make the 94% click any less dumb though. Thank god I didn’t die to it, but I just as easily could have. The 97% wave gets really consistent later on somehow, but for a long time it’s super tough and I barely passed it from runs. It’s just another set of ultra tight gaps to end the level off, just like Tartarus. Except, 98% in Acheron is really easy compared to Tartarus. I’m not complaining about that by any means, I just know it would be a PROBLEM if I died to it…
In conclusion…. yeah
