Prior to moving to Guatemala in 2020 Scott Oliver lived in Costa Rica for 20 years where he met his wife and where he wrote 'Costa Rica's Guide To Making Money Offshore in Bull and Bear Markets' as well as 'How To Buy Costa Rica Real Estate Without Losing Your Camisa'.

Scott now lives with his wife in Cayalá in Guatemala city.
