The schema is at the heart of every healthy GraphQL API. It describes the shape of all of our available data and all the operations we can perform against it. The schema also gives us the ability to modularize our code by splitting it into entities. When frontend and backend developers agree on the schema upfront, each side can develop independently using the schema as their guide.
