The objective of dive S0763 is to explore the canyon system located off Jorge Montt Island. We will characterize the deepest section of the canyon environment through sediment coring, rock and animal collections, Niskin water sampling and video transects, and in the axis and on the canyon walls. Ideally, these observations will be compared to other canyon systems in the Chilean margin. Watch out for evidence of seepage. This will be the first of the two dives in this canyon.
