The stores that are not on the main shopping streets are normally closed on Monday or only open from 3 pm until 8 pm. A large number of museums in Milan open from 10 am until 6 pm.
Milan is divided into 9 districts which are called boroughs here. The city proper has a population of about 1.4 million, while its metropolitan city has 3.26 million inhabitants. The majority of the local citizens, are extremely punctual, gallant and tactful. The official language spoken in Milan and the rest of Italy is Italian. But in hotels, attractions and restaurants, you will get by in English.
