• Half an Octopus, Boiled
• 1 Onion, diced
• 2 Tomatoes, diced and blended
• 4 Garlic Cloves, grated
• 3 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
• ½ a can Tomato Puree
• 2 Peppers
• 1 Tsp Salt
• 1 Tsp Black Pepper
• ½ Tbsp Paprika
• 1 Tbsp Cumin
• 1 Tbsp homemade Harissa (Tunisian Chili Paste)
• 1 Cup of Octopus Water
• 1 Potato
• ½ Onion, sliced (Optional)
• Some Parsley, chopped (Optional)
Cooking Process :
1. Carefully simmer half an octopus in a large pot halfway with water for about 40 minutes. Then, take it out and let it rest on a strainer until it cools down.
2. Dice the onion, peel and grate the garlic cloves to create a smooth garlic paste. Dice the tomatoes into small cubes, and blend. Dice the octopus into pieces of about 1 to 2 inches.
3. Over Medium heat, add the diced onion and the olive oil to a Moroccan clay pan sauté for about 7 min.
4. Add the blended tomatoes and tomato puree, and stir together.
5. Add the diced octopus, grated garlic cloves, harissa paste, cumin, paprika, black pepper and salt. Stir and gradually add a portion of the boiled octopus water.
6. Fry up some potatoes and peppers as a side for the dish, Then, toss the peppers into the sauce to really bring out their delicious taste. Sprinkle on some sliced onions and chopped parsley. Serve and Enjoy!
