This is a basic transition-era Impulse with an interesting configuration. This has a 2-speed door, but a normal-sized cab, and a 2300 lbs. capacity. This is a very late Thyssen Dover, as this has the Dover sticker, but a TAC20 (ThyssenKrupp) controller. Most Thyssen Dovers have DMC controllers, although the records says this is on DMC. The basement's locked in the car, and the 1st floor and mezzanine are disabled out of the car, so the only way to call it is on the 2nd floor. This replaced an older elevator that served many more floors of the building. I saw that there was another elevator here I didn't know about on the records, but figured it was in the Social Security Office. Then when I saw they moved, I thought it would be a good time to check and see if I could get into the old space and see if my prediction was right. Now this video exists. I think they're in the process of turning the 2nd floor into more apartments. The 1st floor will most likely remain as retail. So that means they might lock the 2nd floor at some point. Both floors are totally gutted, and this is being used for construction at this time.
Replacement installed 2001 .
