Ever since I was 6 years old, I have been obsessed with 3D platformers. Upon playing Mario 64 for the first time, I was hooked. The 3D platformer genre has delivered some of the greatest hits of all time no doubt, but the genre has had it’s peaks and valleys in terms of popularity and more notably, in output of titles. We’ve seen a bit of a resurgence of late in the genre from both the AAA and particularly the indie space where we’re seeing some amazing games. You may be asking, what are some 3D platformers to look forward to in the coming months and years? Well, from games that hearken back to the days of yore, to games that push the genre forward, here are ten of my most anticipated 3D platformers.
