Just to follow up with the 4k RPM test OMP internal pressure test, this test was run close to redline, and still no noticeable pressure on the Guage.
I installed a test port on the front cover plate of my series 1 OMP, in between the two piston assemblies and tested actual pressures inside the OMP at up to approximately 8500rpm. This is a stock setup, no Sohn adapter is installed for this test. *this is the flat cover with 4 screws that faces the front of the car while the OMP is mounted to the engine*
The purpose of this project is to research the effectiveness of the OMP to supply oil with the Sohn adapter in comparison to the stock configuration.
There was alot of dispute and speculation about how much pressure is inside the OMP during normal operating conditions.
*I am not excited about free-revving my engine. This is a calculated risk for the cause. A few minutes of high rpm free revving, to me, is worth the answers that will come.
If you have feedback about why this is actually bad, and not just regurgitating the fact that you've been told so, please share! That's on the list of things I intend to research! *
