Elon Musk confirmed that the robotaxi unveiling event scheduled for August 8 will be delayed. The delay is due to a design change Musk requested for the vehicle's front. No new date has been set, but the event might happen in October. This news initially caused Tesla's shares to drop, but they have since bounced back. Despite earlier losses this year, Tesla's shares have risen over 80% since April. Musk has been promoting Tesla's "Full Self Driving" system, saying it will allow robotaxis to generate income for the company and Tesla owners. However, the system, still being tested, has been linked to 75 crashes and one death according to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Tesla states that the system can't drive itself completely and that human drivers must be ready to take control at all times.
