Today, 23 March 2021, marks the anniversary of the UK’s first coronavirus lockdown. To commemorate this, a minute’s silence and national doorstep vigil will form part of a day of reflection, where we will remember all those who have died in the pandemic.
There will be a minute’s silence at 12noon and then, at 8pm, a doorstep vigil, where people will be encouraged to light up their doorsteps. Prominent buildings and landmarks across the UK will also be lit up.
The charity, Marie Curie, is leading this day of commemoration and is asking everyone to come together to reflect on our collective loss, support those who have been bereaved, and hope for a brighter future.
How you can take part –
* Reflect – take a minute at 12noon, shine a light at 8pm or take a moment to reflect on the past year in your own way
* Connect – take a moment to connect with someone you know who is going through a bereavement by sending some flowers, writing a card or having a chat
* Show your support – create a colourful poster for your window or stand outside with a light (a candle, a torch or even your phone) – or shine a light in your window for everyone to see
Marie Curie has some poster templates available for you to colour in and display. You can find these templates here: [ Ссылка ]
The past twelve months have been some of the most challenging, upsetting and difficult many of us have ever had to experience. Coronavirus has affected all of us, in one way or another.
Here at TeamRAD we will be taking some time to remember and reflect. As we do, we want to say thank you – for your support, kindness and positivity. It has been a hard twelve months but we have appreciated being able to create content that we hope has helped make lockdown life a little easier.
However you choose to reflect on this first anniversary, take care and remember that TeamRAD is always on hand to support – contact us via our Live Chat at [ Ссылка ]
