Are you looking for some good places to stay on Manali Leh Highway? Or do you know but confused if you should stay at Sarchu or Jispa or Keylong or Pang?
Sarchu, being in the middle of Manali to Leh journey is an obvious choice for many but they ignore very important details and end up in health issues at the start of the trip itself.
Well, most of the Manali Leh Highway after Darcha is above 14000 feet in altitude on an average. You can never be acclimatized to that high altitude with just one night's sleep in Manali or Solang Valley. Hence, Sarchu is sometimes referred to as Vomit Hilton too because of its high altitude, and people who sleep at this place end up with acute mountain sickness issues mostly.
Hence, it is always recommended that you sleep at either Jispa or Keylong to avoid AMS symptoms when traveling to Leh from Manali. You can leave early morning from Jispa or Keylong to reach Leh by evening on the same day. This will help you a lot in avoiding health issues.
