This community chat delves into the modern racism that persists in the foster care system and contributes to children of color being disproportionately represented in the foster care system. Speakers will discuss how marijuana use is treated in the child welfare system as well as mothers being tested in hospitals. Additionally, this panel discusses the differential response to poverty historically versus during the pandemic when other groups experienced economic challenges. The group shares their policy recommendations to move forward. R
