A review of the Minelab GO FIND smartphone app for the Minelab GO FIND 40. Video discusses some of the differences between the basic GO FIND app and the Pro GO FIND app. There is a $30 fee to upgrade to the pro app from the free basic app through the Google play store (Apple app store). Is it worth it to upgrade to the Pro app?...I think so!
When you upgrade to the Pro app it really becomes a very versatile app giving you full control remotely of the detectors setting as well as being able to map your find locations with waypoints, photos, and small description. You also have access to map or even satellite view in real time from your smartphone.
SPECIAL NOTE: In this video towards the end I mention that the mapping feature of the GO FIND app is better than that of the Minelab CTX. I should explain that even though I mention that it is "Better" what I mean is better in terms of ease of use and userfriendliness in the sense that you see your find points in real time right on the screen of your smartphone. No need to attatch to your computer to see your find points and information of your finds.
Conclusion: The GO FIND smartphone app can be quite the handy addition to your GO FIND detector, especially if you upgrade to the Pro app. By upgrading to the Pro app you gain the capability to make all adjustments of your detector through your smartphone as well as being able to mark your find points. Have a record of all your GO FIND finds right there with you on your phone to show your friends or to even share online with others. In the short time that I have been using the smartphone app I have been able to log many coins found as well as jewelry. In my opinion it was worth the $30 to upgrade to the Pro app. Also on another note I mention in the video about how I am a fan of blue tooth earpieces for phone conversations and the such. During the video I happened to have my blue tooth connected to my phone while the GO FIND was also connected to the phone and I got all detector audio through the bue tooth earpiece. Very cool!
