Here is a small and perfect beginner jazz blues saxophone solo by Kenny Garrett on Sandu! Short, - just 1 chorus - technically not hard, but making all good melodic statements. Very easy to play and learn from for all levels.
The first 6 bars are playing with the minor 3rd, the blue note and expanding on the idea, then suddenly outlining some typical jazz blues secondary dominant towards the reall IIm7, on which he plays another classic bebop line. Ending the solo on an exciting bluesy line, playing with the minor and the major third.
This kenny Garret solo was taken from the album by Freddie Hubbard and Woody Shaw: Double Take. Enjoy the solo transcription!
