Affinity Photo by Serif is a real contender for being a Photoshop replacement. Best of all, no monthly subscription, and it's just (currently) $50! I gave the trial a shot, and bought it after one project. It's a very deep program that can do most of what Photoshop can do. For me, it does everything I needed Photoshop for, and it does it quick and smooth. If you are looking for a Photoshop replacement, give Affinity Photo a shot.

In this video, I'll go over some of the things I do in Affinity Photo and compare the process to Adobe Photoshop. The workflow and interface of Affinity Photo is very similar to Photoshop, so it's easy to switch. Plus, it's not bogged down by years of backward compatibility issues like Photoshop is. Photoshop is awesome, I have nothing against it, and will use it if there is something that Affinity Photo can not do. But, the subscription model becomes a pain after awhile.

GIMP is another alternative to Photoshop, but the interface is not laid out well, and it suffers from performance issues in my opinion, but if you want something free and capable, give GIMP a try.

Affinity Photo can be activated on as many computers as you personally own and use. It's easy to pick up coming from Photoshop, and it feels good to use.
