It used to be 6 cores. Then 8. Now it's 16 and even 24. We live in a time of a new core count arms race, when AMD and Intel compete in their numbers, caring little about overheating and heat dissipation. But do you really need dozens of cores in a regular gaming PC? Why will the current Core i9 and Ryzen 9 never be a good choice for gaming? How are Nvidia and Microsoft to blame for this?
