Art and the New England Farm examines the history, character, and representation of the region's farms in works by artists from the 19th to the 21st century. Artists' depictions of the farm have shaped concepts of national identity and reflected the challenges of agriculture in New England. Photographs of Lyme's iconic Tiffany Farm by artist Judy Friday bring this story up to the present day-a moment when small farms struggle to survive despite society's growing interest in food sources and organic produce.
