This video shows an easy way to replace the front suspension springs on your 2010, 2011,2012, 2013, 2014 Volvo XC60 SUV.
The first job is to check the electronic oil level after getting a top up by 0.5L warning message on the dashboard.
The spring replacement is fairly easy, this method means you do NOT need to take the entire wheel, hub and lower arm off, you can simply separate the top shock absorber and spring along with the top mount from the lower arm by undoing the pinch bolt and pushing the lower arm down to it's lowest extent.
There is enough extension on the lower arm, driveshaft and steering arms to allow it to flex down and then split at the middle. We used a bottle jack to help separate the two which I'd highly recommend.
I'd recommend a hydraulic spring compressor like I use in the video.
Thanks to my brother Graeme for the help as I was visiting him on holiday when I needed to do this job so borrowed his tools, garage and spring compressor!
You don't need any special tools, jack and jack-stands, some spanners, socket set, allen/hex keys (for the anti-roll bar bolt/nut), spring compressor and a bottle jack.
