In this video, I talk about "forcing" corms into growth before planting them into soil. Botanically, corms are underground stems, that store energy and produce shoots, and roots. Several types of plants produce corms, and many plants can be propagated by dividing corms. The benefit of forcing these (in my opinion) is to see if any corms are not viable. These can be discarded before planting. I purchased 40 corms, for $9.99, which should produce large plants to be planted in the garden later this summer. "Kobold" is a North American native cultivar of Liatris spicata. It is excellent for cut flowers and attracting pollinators.
