STORYLINE:
US President Joe Biden was welcomed by Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda at the presidential palace in Vilnius on Tuesday, ahead of the annual NATO summit being held in the city.
The ceremony was followed by a bilateral meeting between the two leaders.
Biden arrived in Vilnius on Monday evening and was scheduled to meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday evening, amid Turkey withdrawing its objections to Sweden joining the NATO alliance.
He was also due to attend a meeting of the North Atlantic Council, of which Sweden is a member, in the afternoon.
