A Buyer’s due diligence period in a real estate transaction is that period of time, negotiated in the contract, when the buyer gets an inspection done to ascertain if there are any defects in the home. If there are repairs needed, the Buyer can then negotiate those repairs with the Seller. It is a time when different and more specialized inspections can be done besides a general overall home inspection.
