The Amtrak 8000 Series California BiLevel cars are built by the same company that provided the Bart C2 Cars (2501 to 2580) including this train car which is 8031. They’re unfortunately plagued with door problems after they entered passenger service since 1995. However, Alstom refurbished these train cars from 2009 to 2012 at Vallejo and barely fixed the door problems. This short features another door action from one of the Morrison Knudsen California BiLevel cars. This time, it features Cab Car 8305 that’s named after the mountain at the Marin County. Most of the Morrison Knudsen California BiLevel cars have an audible beeping noises while the train doors open and beeps faster to indicate the train doors will close soon. However, some of them including this cab car lost their beeps, making it difficult to tell that the train doors will close soon.
