Yvonna led the group on a guided tour of Zlatibor "Old Village," an open air museum in Sirogojno. Authentic 19th century wooden buildings were assembled here in 1980 to give people an idea how Serb mountain dwellers lived in the Dinaric Region. It was declared a national monument in 1983. It so happened that the house ex-Marine (husband, Steve) and I slept in last night was built by Yvonna's grandfather in 1880. How about that!

Many, many small buildings. Each with different uses including an area to make slivovitz (the strong brandy of the Balkans). Almost all building descriptions are in the video so I'll let you watch for yourself. Hope you enjoy your visit to "Old Village." We did...
