Director of Sanford POWER PT Melissa Moyer shares why deep breathing is important and demonstrates some techniques to help you at home. Keep these things in mind when performing this exercise:
1. Measure your ability to hold your breath before this deep breathing exercise.
2. Complete 30-40 deep breaths in/out through the mouth.
3. On your last rep, hold and remeasure your ability to breathe hold.
4. Take another deep breath, hold x 15 minutes and relax it back out.
5. Enjoy your new relaxed state or go do your workout and see what difference it made for you!
