This presentation is designed for speech language pathologists (SLPs) and other professionals to ask the question “when should I consider augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) for this child?”
This applies to children with communication delays or disorders who may not be able to communicate effectively using speech or may not be making significant progress despite consistent participation in speech therapy.
Seattle Children’s Hospital speech-language pathologist Marci Revelli offers a way to integrate some AAC dynamic assessment strategies into evaluation or therapy sessions including the use of both low technology and high technology tools. This video is specific to children who can use their hands.
