Daniel Siegel, MD will conduct a 90-minute Master Class on "Compassion, Connection and Engagement: How Health Arises from our Mind, Body, and Relationships." We will explore the implications and applications of the interdisciplinary field of Interpersonal Neurobiology and how these can illuminate the ways in which collaboration between patient and clinician cultivates a process called integration. This integration process is central to health of the mind and body, as well as our relationships with one another and ourselves. Dr. Siegel is currently clinical professor of psychiatry at the UCLA School of Medicine where he is on the faculty of the Center for Culture, Brain, and Development and the founding co-director of the Mindful Awareness Research Center.
