Products featured: Saphir Oiled Leather Cream and Saphir Dubbin Conditioner on an Alden 403 Indy Boot in Horween Brown Chromexcel.
First, take a damp washcloth and thoroughly clean the uppers. Then, stuff each boot with shoe trees to help restore the shape of the boot, do this any time you're adding moisture to the leather.
Next, I applied a coat of Saphir Oiled Leather Cream by massaging evenly into the leather using a chamois cotton cloth. This cream will gently clean as well as moisturize and protect the leather and is formulated specifically for oil and chrome tanned leathers. Allow 15-30 minutes for the cream to fully absorb and dry, and then brush with a horsehair brush.
Since these needed a good hydrating, I then added a coat of Saphir's Dubbin Conditioner. This really hydrates and restores the shine to Chromexcel. Allow 15-30 minutes to absorb and dry, then brush with a brush to remove and smooth any excess.
Allow 12-24 hours and then brush with a horsehair brush and you'll see that Dubbin really restore the gloss and shine to your Chromexcel!
The welts and soles were in great condition so nothing was needed or added to those.
