This series of five lectures explores how the writers of each of the four canonical Gospels “tailors” their portrait of Jesus in order to meet the pastoral needs of their particular communities. Gaining insight into how each of the Gospels tell the story of Jesus for their particular communities not only assists us in becoming better readers of the Gospels but offers new opportunities for enhancing our faith in Jesus the Christ.
Greg Zuschlag, PhD, a native San Antonian has been a Professor of Systematic Theology at the Oblate School of Theology since 2008. He earned his MDiv from the University of Notre Dame and his PhD from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, CA. He is a husband and father of two young boys as well. Since he began teaching Christology eight years ago, he has developed a profound appreciation of how the differences and discrepancies in how each of the Gospels portray Jesus do not weaken ones faith in Him but actually strengthen it.
