I've been asked these questions countless amount of times about nodes, 5th job skills, and the v-matrix, so time to address them. You can categorize all the nodes and 5th job skills into these essential categories: decent skills, boss story nodes (will's true arachnid reflection and seren's solar crest), skill boost nodes, race and branch skills, and class nodes. Please note that these are not absolute and there can be minor changes from class to class, but this video should give you a good guideline about nodes.
