"Passports, Pretzels, & Palaces" EPISODE 6:
Riding a sommerrodelbahn, also known as an alpine or mountain coaster or a summer toboggan run, is a blast! A popular attraction in Europe, they either consist of a rail-guided car or a classic toboggan track in flume form. It’s gravity propelled and the rider controls the speed with handles on each side. To accelerate you push the handles forward, and pull them back to brake. This video was filmed in the charming Bavarian town of Pottenstein, Germany. Experience the full real time ride down the 1000 meter Frankenbob alpine coaster track, as well as the 1160 meter Frankenrodel toboggan run. Enjoy!
